The Iranian foreign ministry on January 25 imposed new sanctions on individuals and entities of the European Union and the UK. 

It released a statement to note that the sanctions came as retaliation for their interference into Iran’s internal affairs, spreading of misinformation about it and enforcement of brutal sanctions against it.  

The new sanctions target three entities and 22 individuals of the EU and one entity and eight former and incumbent officials of the UK. 

Accordingly, they were banned from obtaining visas and entering Iran with their assets and bank accounts in the country being frozen.
