Sports games in public health sector openApril 20, 2023
The 10th sports games in the public health sector have opened.
The games are held in several places of Pyongyang, divided into two groups. They will compete in such sports as basketball (male), volleyball (male and female), table tennis, tug of war and Taekwon-Do.
An opening ceremony took place on April 18 at the Basketball Gymnasium on Chongchun Street.
It was attended by Choe Tong Myong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk, officials concerned, officials in the public health sector, players and employees of central-level hospitals.
Choe Kyong Chol, minister of Public Health, delivered an opening address.
He said the current sports games would be a significant occasion for further arousing enthusiasm for mass sports and encouraging health workers to work and live in a more cheerful and cultured way.
After the opening ceremony, there was a march-past of players, followed by a basketball match between the Korea General Red Cross Hospital and Kim Man Yu Hospital teams.
