To narrow gap between urban and rural areas in educational level

In keeping with the period of overall development of socialism, the educational sector is striving to reduce the difference between urban and rural areas in the educational level.

The excellent teaching resources of the capital and the provinces are flowing into not only rural schools in Ryanggang Province but also schools of mountain villages in the Paengmu and Kaema plateaus.

Every Thursday which is designated as the day of department, such schools in the province hold a seminar on teaching methods and a meeting for joint review of teaching on the basis of new teaching resources disseminated through exclusive networks, thus enabling their teachers to make a great stride in improving their qualifications.

The teachers’ qualifications are improving day by day amid their growing enthusiasm for inventing and introducing new teaching methods.

Over a dozen teaching methods presented by teachers of the schools of mountain villages were highly appreciated at a recent teaching contest of teachers in the field of general education in the province.

South Hwanghae Province directs efforts to the training of excellent teachers to be assigned to rural schools.

It has selected bright students for a university of education and made efforts to improve the qualifications of lecturers of the university.

While making sure that the lecturers draw up detailed plans for improving their qualifications and carry out the plans unconditionally, it has pushed in a methodological way the work to encourage them to actively develop and apply new teaching methods.

It arranges for the lecturers the visits to excellent schools in Pyongyang and its rural schools so that they can learn from good teaching experience and, at the same time, find out and fully grasp the urgent problems to be solved at rural schools.

Meanwhile, it makes sure that lecturers in the field of teacher training regularly visit rural schools to substantially help teachers there improve their abilities.

North Hamgyong Province has built a provincial teaching training school which plays an important role in the development of education in the region.

With a total floor space of thousands of square metres, the school has a teaching method laboratory, a general lecture room and others and is provided with educational facilities necessary for the teachers retraining course.
