Russian FM decries West’s history distortion bid
October 23, 2024A deputy foreign minister of Russia censured the West for attempting to distort history in an interview with Izvestia newspaper on October 19.
Some Western countries are despicably trying to underplay the key role the Soviet Union played in defeating Nazism and remove the feats of Soviet soldiers from the memories of rising generations, he disclosed.
He also asserted that in Western countries, blatant attempts are being made to eulogize traitors and supporters of Nazism during the war.
It is just the Red Army that made a decisive contribution to liberating Europe from Nazism and the Soviet people that paid dearly to achieve the great victory, he said, stressing that Russia always remembers the feats performed by the Soviet people and will remember them in the future, too.
