A maritime sports demonstration took place on the Taedong River in front of the Tower of the Juche Idea in Pyongyang on September 9 in celebration of the 76th birthday of the DPRK.
It was seen by Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, labour innovators and meritorious persons who made contributions to the struggle for attaining the 12 major goals for the development of the national economy, officials of ministries, national agencies, Pyongyang municipal and district-level institutions, working people and citizens.
Also among the audience were veteran cadres who had worked for a long time at important posts of the Party, government and military.
The players displayed high sports skills they cultivated in their daily practice.
There was also a demonstration of water skiers.
