Hospital makes successes in Koryo therapy
September 5, 2024Medical workers of the Koryo Medicine General Hospital in the DPRK are making efforts to put the diagnosis and treatment of Koryo medicine on a scientific basis.
They have recently developed new Koryo therapies for treating urinary system disorders and introduced them into clinical practice.
In general, urinary disorders are known to be difficult to treat and have a high recurrence rate.
They studied a method of detecting the acupoints that are most related to urogenital disorders and, based on it, rationally set the depth and angle for applying acupuncture according to diseases and scientifically confirmed their accuracy.
They also studied Koryo therapies for 10-odd kinds of incurable diseases including ectopic lumbar disk dislocation and prolapse of lumbar disc.
They developed health-promoting drinks including siberian motherwort compound drink and insam and Korean epimedium anti-cancer pills by intensifying research into medicinal materials widely known from ancient times, and established a quality management method of various Koryo medicines.
Research groups of anorectal surgery, gynecology, and obstinate diseases departments made achievements in the work to make reference books on Koryo therapies for incurable diseases by conducting on-site clinical introduction in central-level hospitals and provincial, city and county-level hospitals.
