Young people in the DPRK greeted Youth Day under the special care of the Workers' Party of Korea and amid congratulations from the whole country.
Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Pak Jong Chon, Jo Chun Ryong, Jon Hyon Chol and Pak Thae Song, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, and other senior officials of the Party and the government visited major construction sites, including the rehabilitation campaign areas in North Phyongan Province, and industrial establishments, coal mines, universities and farms to congratulate the young people on August 28, Youth Day.
Meeting the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade members who volunteered to work at the rehabilitation campaign areas, senior officials gave pep talks to the young builders who are devoting their precious youth to the honourable struggle for the prosperity of the socialist motherland and the wellbeing of the people.
At workplaces and campuses, senior officials of the Party and the government congratulated the working youth who are leading the development of the units and the exemplary youth and students who are devoting themselves to sci-tech research in their majors.
They, together with young people, enjoyed art performances and took part in colourful events, including sports and amusement games.
