Russian President Vladimir Putin convened a consultative meeting on the issue of infrastructural development of the Far East region in Vladivostok on September 4.

He said at the meeting that transport is one of the major development aspects in the Far East region.

In order to improve transport in the Far East Federal Region, increase the access to transport means in the Far East region and expand connection within the region, we should develop air transport, provide citizens with more convenient new routes and build and modernize the infrastructure of airport, he stressed.

Referring to the increasing demand for electricity in the region, he demanded that a long-term plan be adopted for the development of the electric-power sector in the region before December 1.
