Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov condemned the West’s expansionist policy as he addressed the international youth forum on September 16.

Asserting that the Ukrainian crisis is the direct result of the West’s policy, he affirmed that the attainment of the goal of the special military operations means the straightening out of the situation in the Eurasian continent and a contribution to establishing a world order free from any attempt at hegemony and based on the balance of interests.

The West, particularly European countries, are talking about a plan for deploying the so-called “mobilized forces” in Ukraine, he said, emphasizing that the Western countries’ troop deployment in the Ukrainian territory will mean the declaration of a direct war against Russia, not a mixed war.   

Russia has no intention to attack the Western countries, but if Europe, which has regularly clamoured for the preparations for an anti-Russia war, attacks the country, it will be a completely different war, namely a “very short war”, he warned.

He stated that though the Western countries are trying to make Russia’s situation unstable, they will be unable to achieve their purpose.
