Song Kuk Hyang has achieved lots of successes at international games.
She came first in the women’s weightlifting 76kg category in the 19th Asian Games and won gold medals in the snatch, jerk and total of the women’s 71kg event of the 2023 IWF Grand Prix. She also won three golds in the 71kg category of the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships after setting new world and Asian records in the snatch and jerk and bagged another three golds in the snatch, jerk and total of the 76kg category in the 2024 IWF World Championships.
In the women’s 71kg category event of the recent 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships, she renewed the world and Asian records in the jerk and total to win golds and came second in the snatch. She was awarded the best player prize of the championships.
The weightlifter of the April 25 Combat Sports Team was born in Unchon County, South Hwanghae Province.
The competitive girl trains perseveringly according to her own plan after carrying out the training tasks given by the coach.
With an ambition to become a world champion, Song is training assiduously.
