The rural areas across the DPRK are undergoing changes one after another to present new scenery of civilization all the year round, thanks to the steady implementation of the programme for the rural revolution in the new era set forth by the Workers' Party of Korea. Against this backdrop, Samgwang-ri of Unjon County in North Phyongan Province has turned into a modern livestock farming base and beautiful and ideal socialist land to greet the auspicious moment of its inauguration.

Distinctive modern houses are standing in rows adding to the sentiments peculiar to the countryside in the beautiful villages, alongside different branch farms, processing grounds, rearing blocks, cultural and welfare facilities, a solar power station, office building, hall of culture, kindergarten, school, hospital, pharmacy and other public buildings which stand in ideal harmony. They are all impeccable in terms of architectural beauty. The fascinating livestock farm is a proud model of the times, which set a new standard of socialist rural construction and the development of the livestock farming.

The eye-opening transformation in the Samgwang area clearly showing the rapid development of the socialist countryside is a proud fruition of the noble devotion of Comrade Kim Jong Un who is confidently shaping a bright future of Korean-style socialism with his outstanding ideas, theories and energetic leadership and another clear proof of the validity and vitality of the WPK's policy on rural construction.

An inauguration ceremony of the Samgwang Livestock Farm under the North Phyongan Provincial Rural Economy Committee, built as a model of socialist rural construction in the new era and development of livestock farming, was held with splendour on February 2.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, attended the ceremony.

All the participants raised stormy cheers of "Hurrah!" looking up with deep emotion at Comrade Kim Jong Un, the benevolent father of all the people who steadily gives a facelift to all the rural areas across the country so that they can change and thrive, while making an endless journey of devotion day and night with burning love for the country and the people.

Present at the ceremony were leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs and other members of the central leadership of the Party, officials and working people of North Phyongan Province and Unjon County and employees of the farm.

Kim Jong Un made a historic speech in commemoration of the inauguration of the Samgwang Livestock Farm.

At this Samgwang Livestock Farm to be inaugurated today, we are seeing another unique development of the socialist countryside aspiring to advancement and modernity, he said, adding this is a new standard and epitome clearly showing the height of transformation and level of change we want to reach.

He referred to the purpose and important significance of the construction of the Samgwang Livestock Farm, which was started to create a new starting point and innovative criterion conducive to defining a future development orientation of the countryside and livestock farming in the light of the lessons drawn from the rural construction in the past.

Just this Samgwang-ri clearly indicates the prospect of the socialist rural development we are going to attain, he said, noting that what we have to do is to expand the experience and successes we have gained in the course of building the farm, and thus put rural development onto a new qualitative transformation stage. He specified different tasks to be tackled in implementing the socialist rural development policy and definitely turning the livestock farming of the country into a modern one of the world level.

When Kim Jong Un finished his speech, all the participants raised enthusiastic cheers with great emotion and out of joy of receiving the immortal guidelines indicating the clear policy for the expanded implementation of the WPK's programme for the rural revolution and the development of animal husbandry in the new era.

Kim Jong Un extended warm congratulations to the local residents who came to lead a blessed life in the wonderful place transformed into a socialist paradise.

He, together with leading officials, went round the first branch of the Samgwang Livestock Farm, protected cultivation ground, dairy products production ground, etc.

Enjoying the gratifying sight of milch cows and goats of good breeds being raised, he said that the main thing in livestock farming is also breed and referred to the need to establish a nationwide system of supplying superior breeds and conduct the work of preserving pedigrees in a scientific way.

He said that it is necessary to positively introduce such advanced livestock farming technologies as that of making the system of managing individual animals like cow, goat and sheep and others intelligent and constantly perfect the Korean-style livestock production system and IT system.

He said: In line with the intention of the Party which set as the five key factors in developing livestock farming superior breeds, sufficient feed, a scientific approach to rearing, comprehensive veterinary services and IT-based and intelligent production and management, the farm should direct big efforts to improving the quality of products while lowering the production costs by optimizing and upgrading technical management, management of equipment, raising and tending and feed management and thus ensure that the validity and vitality of the WPK's policy on livestock farming are proved by clear production growth in the future, too.

Saying that scientific animal husbandry precisely means the increased production of livestock products, he stressed that the farm should steadily usher in a new phase of development of livestock farming and make uninterrupted innovations and continuous advance, regarding it as a priority task to bolster up the scientific and technological forces in production, management and operation.

The Samgwang Livestock Farm should become a standard-bearer advancing in the vanguard of the whole country under the uplifted banner in implementing the Party's policy on animal husbandry, he said, giving precious instructions for the management and control of the farm including the issues of steadily developing the technology for recycling waste, creating new standards in the analysis and control of quality and the issue of promoting and expanding the habit of developing competitively while exchanging experience among major livestock farms.

He said that like this farm, modern and industrialized elements are now being positively introduced into rural areas and that it is necessary to actively encourage such trend and make it a policy. He noted that it is the expansion and intensification of the programme for the rural revolution in the new era to develop the country's animal husbandry in a specialized way, including the integration of the production system of the farms, the increase in veterinary medicine production and the establishment of a new stockbreeding information technology research unit, and clarified the ways for its implementation.

He learned about the dairy product production at the farm.

Appreciating that the farm is ensuring a stable production environment and profitability through the introduction of an intelligent dairy product production system based on the virtual physical production system, he said that lots of good experiences conducive to putting production lines on an intelligent and IT basis have recently been created and that this work should be constantly developed purposefully.

Having a taste of a dairy product, he said that it is not inferior to the products made in the capital city and it rather seems to taste better than them and that it is very great for the unknown farm to mass-produce 10-odd kinds of dairy products such as butter, cheese, milk powder and yogurt. He added that he feels great pride to think that such excellent dairy products would be supplied to the children and people.

Enjoying the picturesque panorama of the farm including modern rural dwelling houses, he said with pleasure that it is really wonderful and it is a serene landscape displaying a sentiment peculiar to the region and that the Samgwang Livestock Farm is a model creation which can proudly represent the socialist countryside in the new era and an ideal modern farm that can stand comparison with a town.

Noting that to build up all the rural villages of the country in such a way that they maintain the flavour of Korean-style socialism and clearly preserve the characteristics of the relevant regions is a strategically important plan to which the Party attaches importance in order to provide the rural population with good living environment and achieve the overall development of the country, he said that when modern villages boasting unique architectural beauty are built in rural areas year after year, not only the living environment of the agricultural workers but also their level of ideological consciousness and civilization will change remarkably along with the appearance of the country.

Calling for building the rural villages of the country to be prominent in all aspects, so that they can be recognized as flawless in any place and even in the distant future, he expressed his unshakable will to more powerfully and confidently propel the overall rural development of the country.

Saying that a model entity for greenhouse vegetable production was built in the area of Wihwa Island and a new standard of development of animal husbandry was set in the Samgwang area, he noted it is the traditional Korean-style development mode and law governing development to create a model first and generalize it to the whole country. When this is well embodied in an organic manner in the construction of rural villages and regions, more epochal progress will be made in the implementation of the Party's programme for the rural revolution in the new era and its regional development policy, he added.

He stressed the need to further heighten the sense of mission and responsibility for the revolutionary cause, bolster self-confidence and redouble efforts to intensify state guidance over rural and regional construction, promote sustained development and ensure state investment and support and thus make the Party’s rural construction policy and regional development policy become a historical review adding a proud chapter to the nation-building history.

Looking round the smart and cosy modern rural dwellings, rearing blocks, dairy product-producing ground and educational and leisure facilities, members of the central leadership of the Party were assured of the rosier future of the socialist countryside that will prosper with each passing day under the outstanding guidance of Kim Jong Un and renewed their pledge to more creditably fulfill their duty in implementing the Party’s policies.

The inauguration of the Samgwang Livestock Farm marked an epochal turn of great significance in strikingly demonstrating the ambition and executive power of the WPK, which is transforming all the rural villages of the country into the ideal socialist ones good to live and work in, and putting the country’s animal husbandry on an advanced basis.
