Sci-tech festivals held
April 23, 2026North Hwanghae Province and Nampho Municipality hosted sci-tech festivals.
The venues brimmed with the enthusiasm to open up the road of independent regional development with science and technology as the lifeline.
The festival in North Hwanghae Province brought together hundreds of valuable research findings and dozens of kinds of new technical products presented by 150-odd units.
It was distinctive particularly as lots of the sci-tech achievements showing the independent development of cities and counties were put on display.
Newly-built regional-industry factories presented achievements they made through their creative efforts for diversifying the type and range of products and improving their quality.
The compound and mineral fertilizer production processes, which were established by the local sci-tech forces in such counties as Yonthan, Pongsan and Sohung, graphically showed the agricultural developments in those areas which are striving to put agricultural production on a scientific basis according to long-term plans, regarding scientific farming as the basic way to increase grain production.
Other eye-catchers were technical achievements of great economic profitability in reality, including the creation of Quercus rubra-based oil-bearing forests.
The participating units actively exchanged and shared achievements and experience and promoted sci-tech cooperation.
During the festival, the provincial committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea efficiently organized a sci-tech achievement presentation, seminar, symposium and the like to encourage scientists, researchers and technicians in the province to take up the research themes conducive to regional economic development and the improvement of the people’s living standards and make strenuous efforts to that end.
The sci-tech festival in Nampho Municipality also drew the attention of visitors as it displayed valuable research hits.
Onchon County exhibited the technical products conducive to doing rice farming well and a sugar beet cultivation method helpful to solving the sugar problem with local efforts.
Waudo and Hanggu districts presented good technical innovation plans for solving problems arising in the production of finishing building materials needed in the construction of rural dwelling houses and the use of renewable energy resources, while Kangso and Chollima districts displayed technical innovation plans that can contribute to the implementation of the regional development policy, and recycled products as well.
Taean District and Ryonggang County presented a variety of valuable achievements helpful to implementing the childcare policy and improving the quality of consumer goods.
