National youth sci-tech hit exhibition opens

A national exhibition of sci-tech achievements of young people opened with due ceremony at the Sci-Tech Complex in Pyongyang on August 27 on the occasion of the significant Youth Day.

Presented to the exhibition are data on more than 1 800 sci-tech achievements made by young people across the DPRK through brisk scientific researches and the mass technical innovation movement to contribute to the implementation of the new five-year plan set forth at the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Present at the ceremony were officials concerned, officials of the youth league and young workers.

Paek Un Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made an opening address.

The speaker said that the exhibition would serve as an occasion for doubling the spirit of exertion and self-confidence of DPRK young people intending to repay the great love and trust of the Party with practical success by displaying their extraordinary creative spirit and patriotic zeal.

At the end of the opening ceremony the participants looked round the exhibition hall.
