Japan persists in nuclear wastewater dumping

November 1, 2026

Japan is persistently discharging nuclear wastewater.

On October 26, the Tokyo Electric Power Company launched again the ocean discharge of nuclear wastewater containing tritium, a radioactive substance, from the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

It is the seventh round in the 2026 fiscal year and about 7 800 tons of radioactive wastewater will be released into the sea by November 13.

Japan's unethical act is sparking protest and denunciation of the international community as it endangers people’s life and safety.
