Russian president orders continued strikes on major targets in Ukraine
October 25, 2026Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered that intensive strikes be continued on major targets in Ukraine as he inspected the auxiliary command post of the combined army group on October 16.
He said that after the invasion of Kursk by the Ukrainian army, the Russian armed forces were tasked with driving out the enemy and establishing a safe zone, and this task was being successfully carried out.
The goal of the Russian forces is to ensure absolute safety of the border area in the future, he said, adding that the establishment of the safe zone will not be on the agenda in the possible talks with Ukraine.
He stressed the need for army group commanders to continue to perform their duties strictly in accordance with the special military operations plan and to continuously make intensive strikes on the enemy’s munitions industry objects and supply centres.
He also noted that anti-aircraft units should increase the effectiveness of their actions to protect citizens and civilian and military objects.
