The Chinese representative referred to the nuclear policy of the government of his country at the meeting of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly on October 16.

Categorically rejecting the wrong remarks of some countries distorting and tarnishing China’s nuclear policy and building of defence capabilities, he asserted that his country has always taken a very prudent and responsible attitude toward the issue of nuclear weapons.

Though the member states of the nuclear alliance sharing a “nuclear umbrella” claim they support nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, it is actually increasing the danger of nuclear war, he disclosed.
