Meetings in the field of education took place in provinces (municipalities) on October 21 and 22 to vow to carry out the important tasks set forth by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un during his congratulatory visit to Kim Il Sung University marking its 80th founding anniversary.

Present there were officials of local Party and power organs, and officials, teachers, researchers and students of universities.

Reporters and speakers at the meetings said that the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Kim Il Sung University held with splendour in the presence of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was a great event shining in the history of the development of the most important training base of the state and the supreme school representing the intelligence and civilization of the DPRK and a historic event that provided a landmark for a new turn in building a revolutionary, advanced and people-oriented educational power of the Korean style.

They said the officials and educators in the field of education should bear in mind the purpose of Juche-oriented education and the position, role and functions of education in the development of socialism and orient everything to training revolutionary talents who will be the mainstay of the Party and state, and the patriotic talents sound in spirit and morality.

They noted that they should make efforts to acquire versatile knowledge and ability to utilize it, keeping in mind that the qualifications of teachers are the ability of students and the speed of advance of the country, and become excellent teachers who train pillars contributing to the prosperity of the country with pure conscience and enthusiasm.

They called upon all of them to display courage, redouble efforts and show inexhaustible enthusiasm for the steadfast implementation of the great programme for education in the new era clarified by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and thus glorify the DPRK as a world-level educational power, sci-tech power and talent power.

Resolutions were adopted at the meetings.
