Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a reply message from Comrade Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China, on October 20.

The message said:

Comrade General Secretary,

I express heartfelt thanks to you, Comrade General Secretary, for sending me a passionate and sincere congratulatory message on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

For 77 years since the founding of a new China, the Chinese people worked the two miracles of rapid development of the economy and long-term stability of society through an uninterrupted effort in single-hearted unity under the firm leadership of the Communist Party of China. They achieved the goal of building a comprehensively well-off society in an all-round way as scheduled and are making a dynamic advance towards the goal of comprehensively building a modern and powerful socialist country.

The two countries, China and the DPRK, are linked by the same mountain and rivers. It has constituted a clear feature of the China-DPRK relations all along that they have been friendly generation after generation and defended and helped each other while sharing their destiny. 

In June this year I met again with you, Comrade General Secretary, during my state visit to the DPRK, and achieved a series of important shared understanding as regards the strengthening and development of the China-DPRK relations and intensified strategic guidance a step further.

The Chinese side is ready to add lustre to the traditional China-DPRK friendship, consolidate mutual political trust and expand and develop the working-level cooperation together with the DPRK side and closely communicate and coordinate with it so as to promote the well-being of the peoples of the two countries and make a positive contribution to the regional and global peace and development.

We are pleased to see the DPRK opening up a new period of overall development of socialism.

I believe that the socialist cause of the DPRK will surely and continuously open up a new phase under the firm leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by you, Comrade General Secretary.

I hope you, Comrade General Secretary, would enjoy good health and your work go well.

I wish your country prosperity and your people happiness and well-being.
