The Chinese representative denounced the US and Japan for destroying global and regional strategic stability in his speech at the recent general discussion of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly.

He criticized the US for seriously destroying global and regional strategic stability by building a nuclear alliance while clinging to its strategic upper hand, and for applying double standard to the issue of arms control and nonproliferation.

He also disclosed that Japan joined the UN on the premise that it would admit its militarist crimes and accept all contents of the UN Charter, but it has become a conspicuous factor threatening the regional peace and stability by accelerating its remilitarization while denying its history of aggression, beautifying its war crimes and worshipping war criminals during the Second World War.

Asserting that Japan’s suggestion for the deletion of the article on enemy state from the UN Charter constitutes a challenge to the postwar international order under the veil of “normalization of the state”, he emphasized that Japan should seriously reflect on its history of aggression, completely part from militarism and thoroughly give up its plan for rearmament.
