The Workers' Party of Korea is steering the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered in Paektu to a brilliant victory, consolidating the mightiness of our state in every way and dynamically opening up a new era of comprehensive national development, a new chapter in the building of a powerful country. In this October when the whole country is overflowing with the people's great confidence in the WPK, the National Defence Revolution Museum under the Second Economy Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was inaugurated with due ceremony on the occasion of the 81st founding anniversary of the WPK.

The museum encapsulates the sacred history of guidance on the national defence industry, which the Party has written with the steadfast faith in independence, resolute determination, painstaking efforts and ardent love, while stoutly shouldering the destiny of the country and the people, and the great fruits of the guidance. It is a grand national treasure house of eternal significance showcasing the Korean people's strong spirit and steadfast revolutionary will and the absolute power of the DPRK.

A ceremony for inaugurating the museum took place with splendour on October 11.

The venue for the ceremony brimmed with deep reverence for Comrade Kim Jong Un who has ushered in the greatest heyday of the DPRK's military strength with his outstanding military strategy and idea, extraordinary and unique leadership, great devotion and tenacious execution ability.

The Central Military Band of the Ministry of National Defence gave a unique dynamic performance.

All the participants paid the highest tribute and glory to Comrade Kim Jong Un, who is the symbol of the mightiness and heroism of our great Party and our country and people and the representative of their sacred dignity and brilliant honour.

Present at the ceremony were the members of the Party central leadership, including the secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, leading officials of the national defence industry, commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence, commanders of different services of the Korean People's Army, commanders of its major large combined units, builders, and officials and employees of the museum.

The national anthem of the DPRK was played solemnly.

The participants watched a video dealing with the weapons and equipment newly deployed in the KPA units.

Kim Jong Sik, member of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and first deputy department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, addressed the ceremony.

Saying that the National Defence Revolution Museum serves as a proud review of the long and glorious development history written by our munitions industry under the guidance of the WPK and is the epitome of the level, features and capability of our national defence force, he stressed that the establishment of the museum representing and symbolizing the exploits performed by the Party for the country's present and future is the greatest praise of the Party’s historic course of profound significance by the times and the people.

The strategic programme of the Party on defence development and the tasks for implementing it literally constituted a revolution for pioneering afresh our defence science and technology and building afresh our munitions industry, he said, noting in an excited tone that Comrade Kim Jong Un initiated the gigantic revolution, unprecedented in the world's history of defence building, and has guided it personally.

Describing the museum as a crystallization of the great patriotic spirit, the defence building line and outstanding leadership ability of Comrade Kim Jong Un and the greatest glory in the 80-odd-year history of the WPK, he said the museum clearly indicates the path to be followed by us and reconfirms the source of our self-confidence.

Looking back with deep emotion on the sacred history of the Juche-oriented defence industry, which was pioneered along with the founding of the WPK and has undergone successful development, and on all stories recorded in the arduous course of pioneering the modernization of defence industry and blazing a path, he said that the museum is an immortal archive and the greatest national treasure house that intensively and intuitively shows how the dignity and security of the DPRK and the happiness of its people were defended and how peace was achieved on this land.

He proudly said that such revolutionary treasure as the National Defence Revolution Museum is a great historic building that can be possessed only by the WPK, which has steadily followed the path, to be proud of and glorious before the country and posterity, without a moment's stop, and a precious monument which can be built only by the powerful state and people with the absolute strength enormous enough to defend themselves.

The level reached by our defence industry today is the zenith of glory and honour won with the spirit and strength of Korea and its people's resourcefulness, and a priceless victory brought about by the tenacity, patriotism and loyalty of our people who unconditionally supported and encouraged our Party’s original line of self-defence and policy of defence development without succumbing to harsh ordeals and difficulties, he said.

Saying that it is the due obligation and unique mode of activities to build the most powerful defence industry in the world for the WPK which was founded with its very mission to take full responsibility for the destiny of the people, he affirmed that the powerful Juche-based weaponry, which serves as stepping stones for the dramatic enhancement of the national prestige, will be developed and perfected more steadily through the course of unique development and evolution and the scale and contents of the museum will further be expanded and enriched with the passage of time.

He expressed belief that the officials and lecturers of the museum would fulfill their responsibility and duty as the red information workers and ideological guards of the WPK who convey forever the history of the self-reliant defence building of the DPRK, cherishing their special pride and honour of working at the WPK's revolutionary history museum.

The participants deeply engraved in their minds the iron truth that they always emerge victorious as the WPK guides the Korean revolution and the vitality of the WPK's line of self-defence.

Members of the Party central leadership hardened their firm will to remain single-mindedly loyal to the revolutionary leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un who is powerfully demonstrating the dignity and greatness of the Party, state and people, while leading the historic struggle for accomplishing the sacred cause of building a rich country with a strong army, regarding self-reliant defence as the mainstay for defending national sovereignty and interests and developing the revolution.
