Russian presidential press secretary clarifies tough stand against Ukraine
October 12, 2026Russian presidential press secretary Dmitri Peskov reaffirmed Russia’s tough stand not to tolerate Ukraine’s hostile acts at a recent press conference.
Russia will fight to liberate even 0.01 percent of land of the Donetsk People’s Republic, he said, declaring that it is part of the Russian Federation and this is indisputable.
Russia wants to achieve peace by way of negotiations, but since it is still impossible to do so, it will fight it out, he stressed.
He stated that now that it is impossible to reach an agreement through negotiations, the only way for Russia to serve its interests is to respond to Ukraine’s exacerbation of tension.
