The politics of the Workers’ Party of Korea is the people-oriented politics making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the masses of the people.

The WPK, which regards the people-first principle as its intrinsic nature and political idea, has established it as a climate peculiar to it to get closer to the people and share weal and woe with them when the situation is more difficult and challenging.

When Sinuiju City and Uiju County in the northern tip of the country were flooded by disastrous downpours in July two years ago, rescue operations were conducted to airlift flood victims from the dangerous areas exposed to heavy rainstorms, a Party decision was adopted on the spot to repair the flood damage as soon as possible and nice homes for the people sprang up on the stricken areas in a matter of some months.

Today, epoch-making changes are being brought about one after another in the DPRK for the promotion of the people's well-being under the wise leadership of the WPK.

Every year modern dwelling houses rise up in Pyongyang and other parts of the country to symbolize the new era of overall national rejuvenation, bringing happy smiles to the people.

The regional-industry factories built in recent years mass-produce goods conducive to the improvement of the people’s living standards and such wonderful entities of civilization as the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area have sprung up, leading the people to a new life and new civilization.

The public health revolution in the new era was launched to reliably guarantee the people's life and health, and many regions have undergone great changes with the appearance of cultural and leisure centres preserving regional features.

All these are the brilliant fruition of the politics of the WPK which makes selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people, shouldering all burdens to promote their well-being.
