Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a congratulatory message to Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, on October 7.

The message said:

My dearest friend, Comrade Vladimir Putin,

Over the past two decades the Russian Federation firmly consolidated its dignity and position as a big power, wrote a new history of epoch-making development and proudly got to the top of the world as a powerful and prosperous country under your outstanding and seasoned leadership.

All these are a precious product of devoted efforts and strong will of you who have always cherished the expectations of the Russian people desirous of building a powerful state and remained faithful to your sacred mission, braving countless challenges and trials, and for this, you are enjoying the great trust and support of the Russian people.

I am pleased to have made good friendship with you and to open up a new chapter in the development of the relations between our two countries.

It is the steadfast policy of the DPRK government and my unshakable choice to attach importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership, the alliance, forged with the fraternal Russian Federation and to steadily expand and develop our joint work.

Firmly convinced that the Russian people's sacred war of justice for defending the sovereignty, security interests and territorial integrity of the country will surely end with their victory, I reaffirm my invariable support for you and the Russian Federation.
