Russian President refers to tasks facing deputies to the State Duma
October 6, 2026Russian President Vladimir Putin made a speech at the First Session of the Ninth State Duma on September 30.
The results of the State Duma election proved once again the might of unity of the people facing the historic challenge and that no one can beat or frighten the Russian people, he said.
Deputies to the State Duma should do very serious and vast work, but this is also the heavy responsibility they have assumed before those who voted for them, he said, adding that the task of improving the living standard and quality of the citizens should always be the focus of concern of the deputies.
He pointed to the need to strengthen the legal basis of the country, take the initiative in all major development directions and boldly remove the old legal barriers that hinder scientific and innovative exploration.
He said that the legislative activities of Russia should meet the requirement of the times and be future-oriented in order to provide the citizens with the best life.
That day he met with the newly elected heads of regions and called upon them to repay the trust of the citizens and work devotedly for the people.
