The elderly people greeted International Day of Older Persons with pleasure thanks to the Workers’ Party of Korea’s policy on the care of the aged.

On that occasion, art performances were given and sports games held for the elderly in Pyongyang and other parts of the country and public catering establishments provided hospitable services for the elderly to give them pleasure.

Officials of Party and government organs and relevant units, war veterans and persons of merit and other elderly persons in Pyongyang enjoyed a music and dance performance given by the National Folk Art Troupe at the Ponghwa Art Theatre.

Officials of government organs at all levels in Pyongyang visited the old people’s home to learn about the living and health of the residents and congratulate them.

Meanwhile, sports and amusement games of the aged took place at cultural recreation grounds in the city.

Okryu Restaurant and other public catering establishments provided senior citizens with excellent service.

Elderly people across the country spent the International Day of Older Persons, enjoying diverse cultural and leisure activities.
