The Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm has over 1 150 modern greenhouses of different types including double-slope inter-connected glass hydroponic greenhouse and domed glass hydroponic greenhouse.

The greenhouses, where environment measurement, ventilation and nutritious solution supply and recovery are done automatically, are equipped with a geothermal cooling and heating system to normalize vegetable production throughout the year.

The Sangdan Farm cultivates dozens of species of vegetables in over ten kinds of crops including fruit and leafy vegetables. The daily yield reaches hundreds of tons.

Various kinds of functional vegetables grow at the greenhouses of the Sinuiju Vegetable Science Research Centre, a modern base for vegetable sci-tech research and dissemination. There are semi-arched double-sheet greenhouses for research into the methods of combining vegetable cultivation and fish farming, vegetable cultivation and mushroom cultivation and vegetable cultivation and livestock breeding, and semi-airtight glass hydroponic greenhouses leading the previous glass hydroponic greenhouses by one generation.
