Delegation of DPRK Ministry of National Defence visits Socialist Republic of Vietnam
October 1, 2026The delegation of the Ministry of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea led by Vice-Minister Ryo Chol Ung visited the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from September 24 to 28.
During the stay, Ryo Chol Ung paid a courtesy call on Phan Van Giang, minister of Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and had a talk with Deputy Minister of Defence Nguyen Truong Thang.
The talks discussed the issues of further boosting the military cooperation between the two countries in conformity with the DPRK-Vietnam friendly relations which have entered a new developing phase with the historic Pyongyang summit meeting in October 2025 as an occasion.
The delegation of the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK also laid a wreath before the graveyard of President Ho Chi Minh and visited a unit of the Vietnam People's Army, the military medical university and other units. It was invited to a welcome reception given by Deputy Minister of Defence Nguyen Truong Thang.
