Ri Won Ju wins gold medals at 20th Asian Games
September 28, 2026DPRK weightlifter Ri Won Ju bagged gold medals in the men's weightlifting of the 20th Asian Games.
On September 26, he lifted 151kg in snatch, 198kg in clean and jerk (new world, Asian and Asian Games records) and 349kg in total (new world, Asian and Asian Games records) to win gold medals in the 70kg category.
In the meantime, Jo Jin Mi and Kim Mi Rae came second in the women's 10m synchronized platform diving event, and Ri Chong Song was placed third in the men's weightlifting 75kg category.
