The Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory has a nearly 50-year history.

The factory is equipped with the processes for producing baby formula, nutritious rice powder, yogurt, milk and other foodstuffs for children.

It turned out a large quantity of foodstuffs for children and students in Pyongyang in the past.

Thanks to the view on the rising generations of the Workers' Party of Korea that there are no more important revolutionary affairs than to bring up children, the future of the country, healthily, government measures were taken to supply raw materials such as sugar and the production of foodstuffs for children was non-stop and continued all the year round at the factory even at the end of the last century when the country was in a hard time.

Baby formula and nutritious rice powder were regularly supplied to the children even during the period of the 90-odd-day top-level emergency anti-epidemic campaign a few years ago when a public health crisis was created due to the inflow and spread of the malignant virus.

Everyone can see vehicles carrying dairy products for the children pass the streets of the capital city.

The factory employees put efforts into normalizing production and improving the quality of products with a sense of duty that they do not simply produce children's foodstuffs, but convey the loving care of the Workers' Party of Korea for the younger generations.

Over the past five years alone, they have more than trebled the production of yogurt and its refrigeration storage capacity, making it possible to supply dairy products to children in Pyongyang properly on a higher level.

It also developed many kinds of functional products good for the development of brain and immunity including soup materials for babies, mixed powdered milk and beef rice powder.

Researchers of the institute of nutritious foods for children develop with maternal care the functional foods which meet the physiological, physical and age characters of children and are good for their growth.

They also learn about the children's foodstuffs in great demand at the commercial service units and on the basis of them push ahead with the development of various kinds of new products.

Thanks to the heightened enthusiasm of the employees, the factory produces more than 50 varieties of products in 18 kinds, including nutritious milk powder, black glutinous rice powder, kelp sweetened soymilk powder, soybean lactic acid beverage, nutritious sweets, beef soup material, carrot jelly and dried fermented soybeans, and demand for its products continues to grow.

The products of the factory were highly appreciated at various exhibitions including the Pyongyang municipal exhibition of consumer goods, the exhibition of light-industry products Development of Light Industry-2023 and the National Foodstuff Exhibition-2025.
