There took place a national inter-sector symposium on science and national symposium on teaching experience in the university sector at Kim Il Sung University from September 21 to 23 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the university.

Attending the symposiums were officials, teachers and researchers from more than 80 scientific and educational institutions.

Presented there were the papers explaining and proving the originality, validity and vitality of the ideas and theories of the Workers' Party of Korea on education and achievements and experience gained in the work to put national science and education on a new higher stage.

Over 2 000 papers were submitted to the symposium on science on the theme of "The era of comprehensive development of socialism and the role of science and education".

At the branch symposiums in the field of social sciences, speakers comprehensively and theoretically explained the theoretical and practical problems arising in giving publicity to the exploits of the peerlessly great men and the line and policies of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Introduced at the branch symposiums in the field of natural science were valuable scientific and research papers conducive to economic development and the improvement of the people's living standards.

Appreciated at the national symposium on teaching experience were new teaching methods and teaching documents presented by Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and other units for their clear pedagogic effectiveness and cognitional and educational significance.

Citations were awarded to the units and participants highly appreciated at the symposiums.
