A sports contest of workers from shipyards in the warship-building industry took place, redoubling the high morale and enthusiasm of the workers devoting all their patriotic strength and wisdom in the vanguard of the historic journey toward a maritime power.

Among the spectators were Jo Chun Ryong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials and workers in the field of munitions industry, Pyongyang citizens, youth and students.

A football match between the teams of the Nampho Shipyard and the Chongjin Shipyard was held at Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang on September 18.

When the players entered the stadium, citizens of the capital city and youth and students extended warm congratulations and encouragement in reflection of the unanimous mind of all the people to the workers in the warship-building industry.

In the football match, the players of the two teams traded attacks and counterattacks with a resolve to display the honour of their teams. The stadium was heated with enthusiastic cheers encouraging them.

The Nampho Shipyard team beat the Chongjin Shipyard team 3-0 in the match.

Earlier on September 17, the Nampho Shipyard team defeated the Chongjin Shipyard team in the volleyball match.

A prize-giving ceremony took place amid the enthusiastic applause of the participants.

The workers of the shipyards in the warship-building industry were full of high enthusiasm to make greater labour achievements in building warships with their towering self-confidence and fighting spirit so as to live up to the trust and expectations of the Party and the people.
