Chinese President Xi Jinping issued an important directive as regards the fact that a conflagration occurred, claiming casualties at a dockyard in Qingdao of Shandong Province, China, on September 10.

He demanded that the rescue operation be properly carried out and that the cause of the accident be investigated quickly and those responsible for it called to account according to law.

All regions and relevant sectors should learn a serious lesson from the accident, find out and eliminate dangerous elements prone to fire and thoroughly protect the lives and property of the people, he emphasized.

According to a relevant sector of Qingdao, 25 persons were killed and five others wounded by the fire.
