Russian FM denounces hostile acts of Western countries
September 9, 2026Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made a speech in a lecture held at the Eastern Economic Forum on September 3.
Saying that sanctions have become the main means of foreign policy of the West, he stated that Russia would never beg Europe to lift the sanctions, while currying favour with it.
The fear that Russia would “conquer” EU member states is a result of the pathological symptoms, he said, adding that there should always be an enemy for NATO and the EU and that if there are no such artificially concocted enemies as Russia any more, voters in the most of the countries belonging to the EU and NATO will topple their governments.
That is why NATO is desperately seeking new excuses for survival, he said.
He branded the president of the European Commission as a “Fuhrer” restoring Nazism in Europe, saying that the West’s attitude towards Ukraine ignoring the major clauses of the UN Charter is disgusting.
The West is openly inciting Ukraine to terrorism and trying desperately to destabilize Russia in the run-up to the election of the State Duma, he decried.
