Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a message of greeting from Comrade V. Putin, President of the Russian Federation, on September 8.

The message said:

My dear friend, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un,

I extend sincere congratulations to you on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Over the past years, your country has made remarkable successes in the socio-economic fields and extremely strengthened its position in the world arena.

The relations between Moscow and Pyongyang have been established always on the basis of the principle of friendship, good neighbourliness and mutual assistance.

Accordingly, without doubt, I, together with you, will continue to do the closest joint work to further consolidate the comprehensive strategic partnership between our countries.

This fully conforms to the interests of the peoples of the Russian Federation and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and will contribute to ensuring regional security and establishing a new, more just and multi-polarized world order.

I wish you good health and success in the state work and all the citizens of your country wellbeing and prosperity.
