A national sci-tech presentation in the field of green architecture and a national sci-tech presentation and symposium in the field of mining industry took place on September 2 and 3 respectively.

The national sci-tech presentation in the field of green architecture was sponsored by the Korean Green Architectural Society of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea. Papers submitted by several units including the Green Architectural Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, Pyongyang University of Architecture and the Paektusan Institute of Architecture were highly appreciated at the presentation as they can make a substantial contribution to the development of green architecture.

During the presentation, there were technical lectures on a roof greening method for public buildings and a green building materials evaluation system.

The national sci-tech presentation in the field of mining industry was sponsored by the Korean Mining Industry Association of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea. Submitted to it were more than 120 valuable papers on putting production on a normal footing at some mines, realizing the domestic production of new pieces of mining and measuring equipment, protecting the ecological environment and establishing energy-, labour- and cost-saving production lines.

The symposium discussed the realistic and reasonable ways for developing the field of mining industry, including research and introduction of the latest science and technology.
