The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a message of sympathy to Comrade Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China, on August 28.
The message said:
I express the deepest condolences to you, Comrade General Secretary, the Chinese party, government, people, victims and bereaved families, upon the sad news that landslide caused heavy casualties in the Tibet Autonomous Region of your country.
I sincerely hope that the aftermath of the damage will be eradicated as soon as possible and the inhabitants in the afflicted areas will regain peace and stable life under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government with you, Comrade General Secretary Xi Jinping, as the core.
