The appellation of patriotic youth reflects the desire of the Korean youth to spend their precious youth as a fulfilling period by devoting all their strength and enthusiasm to defending the country and propelling its advance.

As national defence is the primary expression of patriotism, young people regard it as their sacred duty to serve the army and distinguish themselves every day during their military service.

Now, in the new era of overall development of socialism, many young people volunteer for the most challenging and difficult sectors and units for the prosperity of the country and young working people take the lead in performing miracles and making innovations in their workplaces.

The country puts forward such young people as patriotic youth.
