The Mexican President rejected the US’ interference in her country’s internal affairs at a press conference on August 18.

As regards the fact that the US recently cancelled the visas of Mexican politicians under an unreasonable pretext, she said that such a politically-motivated US behaviour is not new.

Historically, Mexico was a major point of dispute whenever an election was held in the US, but the real point of dispute in the election is not Mexico but the internal issues of the US, she disclosed.

Saying that the relations between the two countries are not those of subordination, she stressed neither the US Department of State nor its Department of Justice have the authority to interfere in the internal affairs of Mexico.
