This year, too, the DPRK is pushing ahead with gigantic construction projects for the well-being of the people in succession, including the fifth-stage construction in the Hwasong area of the capital city of Pyongyang, rural housing construction, construction projects for the Regional Development 20×10 Policy and construction of the Riwon County Offshore Farm.

The Workers’ Party of Korea takes it as the standard and goal of all its efforts for advance and creation to promote the people's happiness and well-being.

Therefore, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un always racks his brains to provide the people with something more and that the best thing, and willingly shoulders all the burdens.

The Regional Development 20×10 Policy is a typical example.

The General Secretary put forward the immutable principle that there should be no backward region in the aspect of the people's living in the territory of the country, and formulated the policy on the basis of establishing its orientation with his strenuous efforts and pains for the improvement of the living standards of the regional people and confirming the feasibility of its implementation in all aspects through the stage of experience accumulation.

However, he thought that the construction of light-industry factories in cities and counties was not enough to sustainably improve the material and cultural life of the regional people throughout the country and included in the policy the construction of advanced city and county hospitals, sci-tech dissemination bases and grain storage facilities, in addition to the original construction of regional-industry factories.

This is not all.

The Second Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK held this year discussed the issue of launching another construction project for technologically and culturally transforming the coal-mining sector as a whole, along with the construction projects for the Regional Development 20×10 Policy.

In fact, it is unimaginable with an ordinary will to start such a construction project for transforming the coal-mining sector as a whole, while forging ahead with the gigantic regional development policy aimed at removing the centuries-old regional backwardness, implementing the programme for the rural revolution in the new era geared to turning all the farm villages across the country into the modern rural communities in the new era and bringing about a radical improvement in agricultural production and carrying out the educational revolution, public health revolution and other undertakings for effecting radical innovations in all sectors of socialist construction.

Indeed, as the General Secretary has harboured it as his cherished desire to ensure the Korean people lead the happiest life in the world, he is always on the journey of devoted service for the good of the people, shouldering all burdens for them.

Thanks to his devoted efforts, a large number of structures for the people continuously rise up in all parts of the country.
