A swimming contest among officials of ministries and national agencies in the DPRK took place at the Swimming Gymnasium on Chongchun Street in Pyongyang from August 10 to 12.

The contest brought together over 500 players selected from more than 90 units. Divided into four groups, they played matches in a team event. The players fully displayed the techniques they had practised in ordinary time.

The State Planning Commission, the State Commission of Science and Technology, the Publication Guidance Bureau and the Foreign Languages Publishing House came first respectively in their group matches.

Medals were conferred on players of the teams that were placed in the top three.
