In the run-up to the 81st anniversary of Korea's liberation (August 15), the whole country is brimming with noble reverence of descendants for the revolutionary martyrs who dedicated their everything to the sacred cause of independence by national efforts while fighting their way through long bloody battles against the Japanese imperialists under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

As an endless stream of ranks of successors flows to the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong where the busts of members of the first generation of the Korean revolution stand, it has been visited this August by lots of officials and working people of many units, including the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the State Planning Commission, the Pyongyang Construction Commission, the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex, the Ministry of Public Security and Kim Chaek University of Technology, service personnel of the Korean People's Army, youth and students, who redoubled their conviction and will to step up the comprehensive rejuvenation of the country by dint of the revolutionary spirit of Paektu, the spirit of the anti-Japanese guerrillas.

They climbed to the cemetery on Jujak Peak with the strong aspiration to follow the road of the revolution that had started on Mt Paektu to the last and paid heartfelt tribute to the martyrs, the revolutionary teachers and the first-generation seniors who created the great traditions of the Korean revolution, and laid the eternal cornerstone of their powerful country.

The image of Comrade Kim Jong Suk, who led a brilliant life as a genuine bodyguard boundlessly loyal to President Kim Il Sung and devoted her everything to national prosperity, instilled into them the noble outlook on life of a revolutionary who set a sacred and brilliant example of devoted defence of the leader.

As they recollected the not-so-long careers of young communists like Kim Hyok and Cha Kwang Su, who held the President in high esteem as the centre of leadership and unity in the incipiency of the Korean revolution, they keenly realized once again what added brilliance to the life of the revolutionaries faithful to their leader and what made them immortal.

They remembered the matchless feats of the brave anti-Japanese generals in front of the busts of such fighters as Kim Chaek, Kang Kon, An Kil, Choe Chun Guk, Ryu Kyong Su, O Jung Hup, Kim Il, Choe Hyon, O Paek Ryong, Rim Chun Chu and O Jin U, who were boundlessly loyal to the President to the last moments of their lives since they courageously turned out in the great anti-Japanese war with ardent patriotism.

The images of the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, including Kim Jin, who blocked the enemy pillbox with his chest to ensure the advance of his unit, Ma Tong Hui, who cut off his tongue with his teeth to keep the secret about the headquarters of the Korean revolution, and Choe Hui Suk and Ri Kye Sun, who terrified the enemies by remaining faithful to the revolutionary principles to the last moments of their lives, are shining as the model of genuine revolutionaries and patriots the successors of the revolution should remember and learn from through generations.

Every visitor was determined to perform new miracles and feats for the implementation of the decisions of the Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea at their workplaces and posts by keeping the indomitable faith and the fighting spirit of self-reliance and fortitude cherished by the anti-Japanese forerunners who pioneered the Korean revolution at the cost of their blood with firm trust in General Kim Il Sung.

While looking round the cemetery, they also vowed to steadfastly carry forward the revolutionary traditions of Paektu and fulfil their missions and duties in more dynamically ushering in an era of comprehensive prosperity for national rejuvenation under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
