The Rangnang Mokran Computer Game Centre in Rangnang District of Pyongyang is always crowded with visitors.

The centre opened last year, but it gains in popularity among the visitors as it has many amusement facilities everyone likes to play, men and women, young and old.

According to Kim Sun Jong, staffer of the centre, in less than a year since its opening many people have come here to have a pleasant time.

The centre is divided into two sections, indoor and outdoor, and the indoor section is more enlivened.

The indoor section consists of the general game room, interactive 3D cinema, shooting gallery, photography studio and others, equipped with over 200 amusement facilities of different kinds.

Children have so much fun using relatively simple and charming amusements like horse-riding, picking up toys and motor race. Adults say that it is hard to follow their children who are busy selecting those that suit their psychology and tastes but they wear smiles and curiosity on their faces.

Senior middle school students and adults like amusements requiring considerable physical strength and skills including hammer blow, fist strike and six-axis flight and VR amusement facilities.

After demonstrating their strength of arms and fists in the amusements for hammer blow and fist strike, some men try to display their power in boxing in virtual reality. But thinking and doing are two different things.

“I was so excited that I felt as if I played a real boxing match. So I frequently moved back and forth and hit the opponent hard with all my strength. After the game, I removed the protective gear and looked around to meet with a burst of laughter from the crowd. Probably, my boxing posture looked ludicrous. A man said that he narrowly escaped my punch as I swung the fist. I felt shame a little, but was very pleased,” said Kim Chol U, a 31-year-old man living in Rangnang District, Pyongyang.

Women mostly perform graceful rhythmic movements to the tune of cheerful music pieces at the music rhythm, foot dance and time keeping amusements.

Not only the interactive 3D cinema and shooting gallery but also the outdoor section where visitors can drive various motor vehicles for amusement and photography studio are also always full of laughter and optimism of the people.

“I hope more and more people would come here to have a rest and pleasant memories in the future, too. We are doing our best for it,” said Kim Sun Jong.
