Shortly ago, an ambulance took a patient to the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences Hospital.

However, the consultative meeting boldly opted to operate on the patient by the method proposed by the department.

The operation was just a continuation of heightened alert.

Even in an unpredictable, unexpected situation, department head Jang Myong Chol calmly led the operation with prompt and correct decision-making.

When the bleeding stopped in the patient’s body and the vital signs displayed on the monitor became smooth at last, the eyes of the medical workers began to glow with joy.

The three-hour operation was successfully completed.

It was a precious fruit of the high ability to steadily challenge and create.

After the operation, the department appointed a doctor and nurses in charge of the patient to observe his ever-changing vital signs.

Later, it successfully performed another operation on him to remove foreign matters from his body in cooperation with other special departments. Thus his condition improved day by day.

Then one day he was racked by high fever. Unless a solution was found, he would have to undergo another operation, which would mean the failure of the first operation.

But Jang Myong Jin, the doctor in charge, and other medical workers of the hospital used a new treatment method to save the patient from the risk.

Thanks to their high abilities and genuine sincerity, the patient recovered completely in over 50 days to become able to work again.

It is said that there took place 40-odd rounds of hospital-wide consultative meetings in those days.

"We could confidently opt for the new operation method for the patient at the crossroads of life and death because we had steadily built up our abilities by studying and introducing advanced technologies without clinging to experience alone,” said Jang Myong Chol.
