China denounces US’ threat
August 2, 2026A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on July 27 answered a journalist as regards the fact that the US announced it would investigate and impose sanctions against a Chinese AI business.
He said that China invariably opposes the US’ act of slandering and imposing sanctions against Chinese enterprises under various kinds of groundless pretexts while politicizing the sci-tech and economic and trade issues and using them as a tool.
The US is threatening to oppress and impose sanctions against the Chinese enterprise while claiming that it “stole the intellectual property of the US”, but it has no evidence and legal basis, he noted, adding that it is one of the typical acts of applying double standards for supremacy in the field of artificial intelligence.
China strongly demands the US stop slandering and making sanctions threats against Chinese businesses and will take all necessary measures against any act of substantially infringing upon its interests so as to firmly defend its just and legitimate rights and interests, he stressed.
