Nations oppose US’ tariff decision
July 31, 2026Several countries are strongly opposing the US’ imposition of new tariffs on goods from 60 countries.
The Canadian prime minister said that retaliatory measures to be taken in response to the US tariffs are being examined, adding that his government would do everything possible to defend the interests of the country.
The Norwegian foreign minister condemned the US’ decision to impose tariffs as a unilateral act and an unreasonable behaviour.
Officials of the Australian government denounced the US’ imposition of new tariffs under the pretext of “prevention of forced labour” as “nonsense”, saying that they should be abolished as they are contrary to the trade agreement between the two countries.
