A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry condemned the US for making an illegal sanctions racket against his country at a press conference on July 15.

As regards the fact that shortly ago, the US made public a bill on imposing sanctions on China and other countries importing the Russian oil and natural gas, he branded it as an illegal and unilateral act.

China resolutely opposes the illegal and unilateral sanctions with neither international legal ground nor approval of the UNSC and will take necessary measures to stoutly defend the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies and citizens, he noted.

He warned that if the US threatens and pressurizes while employing double standards, it will finally shoot itself in the foot.
