The navy of the People’s Liberation Army of China conducted a strategic missile test-fire drill on July 6.

That day, a strategic nuclear submarine of the PLA launched a strategic missile loaded with a dummy warhead to the open waters of the Pacific Ocean and the missile accurately hit the preset water area. 

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry dismissed the denunciation of the missile test-fire drill by the US, Japan, Australia and others, saying that it was pursuant to China’s annual plan for military exercises and was not aimed at a particular country and target. He added that relevant countries were notified of it beforehand and it was in line with international law and practice.
