Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 26 signed the law on obligatorily hoisting the flag of the Russian Federation at all sports facilities and venues for official sports events in the country.

According to the document, the national flag should always fly at the state-owned sports facilities and it should also be raised during official sports events and games.

The law will be in force from the day of its official announcement.
