President Putin lays wreath at Tomb of Unknown Soldier
June 26, 2026A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier beside the Kremlin walls on June 22 to mark the day of remembrance and sorrow (the day when Nazi Germany started an armed invasion of the Soviet Union).
President Vladimir Putin laid a wreath at The Eternal Flame and observed a minute’s silence in memory of the fallen Soviet soldiers.
Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Defence Minister Andrei Beloussov, major commanders of the armed forces and students of military academies.
President Putin placed flowers at the monuments to hero city and city of military glory.
