A national sci-tech presentation in the field of disaster management was held at the Grand People's Study House in Pyongyang on June 16 and 17 under the sponsorship of the Korean Disaster Management Association of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

Attending the presentation on the theme of "Utilization of advanced technology and modern rescue means in disaster prevention" were officials, lecturers, researchers and postgraduate students from 20-odd units.

Submitted to the presentation were more than 70 valuable sci-tech proposals conducive to increasing the nationwide crisis response capability.

Papers on such issues as the national integrated disaster management system and the earthquake safety evaluation methods in building sites were highly appreciated.

During the presentation, there was a lecture on the issues arising in relief from earthquake damage.
